Scout Meeting To Be

Held January 26

The third meeting, in the organization of a Boy Scout Troop in the county, will he held Thursday, January 2fi, at 7:30 p in., at the Washington High School auditorium.

Allen Johnson was appointed scort master for the county at the committee meeting which was held at the county agent’s office Wednesday, January 11. The assistant scout masters appointed were Charles B. Wood, George H. Davis, Jr., and Rev. A. Paul Thompson.

All boys from 11 years up who are eligible to become scouts, are urged to attend this meeting on January 2b. All tenderfoot requirements must be completed before a boy becomes eligible for a scout.

Boys of the ages of 8, 0, and 10. who are in Cub Scouting wib be notified of the date next week when their meeting will be held.

T. F. Atkins Celebrates

79th Birthday

Thomas F. Atkins of Sporryville celebrated his 79th birthdav anniversary, at his home “Honey Suckle Glen’’ on Tuesday, January 10. Guests at the celebration included his brother, sisters, children and grandchildren, all of Rappahannock.

Mr. Atkins is still Very active in spite of his age. He works in his orchard and helps trim the trees, and he thinks the younger generation can’t do the job as well as he can do it.
