There always have been good folks who would raise children not their own, but they might have been frightened to be called foster parents. Just lately we have become used to the term. -Afoster hama ia not. something you can buy or sell. When we put that ad in the paper, we might as ‘ well have said we wanted to buy foster homes. That is not what iwe meant at all, 'because if people go into being foster parents for the money they can get/ they are going to be disillusioned, and the children will suffer too. If they sue going into it for the money alone, it isn’t worth it. This is not to say that homes which board children as a means of supplementing their incomes are bad. What 1 do mean is that anyone taking children must be willing to meet the children’s needs and ■ not just his own needs. Our wisest foster parents know that^ children must be taken for themselves. .
