With Mrs. Taylor
The Rappahannock Garden Club met on Wednesday afternoon afternoon, May 30, at “Grand View” the home of Mrs. George Taylor. Mrs. J. W. McClaskey the mother of Mrs. Taylor had charge of the program. Mrs. James Atkins gave a most interesting talk on the EhgTfsTr gaidehs, illustrating the difference in the arrangement of the gardens in England and here.
Mrs. McClasky gave an interesting talk on Wild Flowers, the topic for the month, ending with a poem she had composed which was very fitting. A tour was then made of Mrs. Taylor’s lovely garden, after which delicious refreshments were served. Mrs. R. E. Wood presided at the punch bowl. There were 24 ladies present.
-gMISS ANDERSON RECEIVES SCHOLARSHIP HONOR
Miss Lucy Mason Anderson of Arlington, class of 1947 of Mary Washington college, who has been an instructor at the Medical College of Virginia, has been awarded an assistantship and scholarship at Stanford University, California, where she will do research work in biochemistry next year.
Miss Anderson is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Anderson of Arlington, and a niece of Mrs. A. C. Latham of Amissville.
