Of “Add A Dollar”
A group from Washington Baptist church is inaugurating a campaign of “Add A Dollar to Add to the Sunday School” in Washington. Using a unique plan, posters are to be put up in business places and people will be asked to “add a dollar” by sticking a dollar on to the ones attached to the cardboard. With cellophane tape, this can mean that the dollars will hang in streamers from the “Add a Dollar” signs.
Realizing the desperate need for more Sunday School rooms, some members of the Baptist Sunday school decided to follow the plan set by the Methodist minister in Texas who tried to get a “mile of dollars” to re-build his burned church. His story was in Life magazine,. May 21, with a pietuie of him wrapped in the long line of dollars given. He did not get quite a full mile, which he estimated would be $10,000, but he got more than half of it.
In Washington, the posters will be in the bank, the printing office, stores, garages, restaurant, and public offices, for folks to “add -a dollar” tcr'Tfrest reamers.

At School Pafty
Mrs. Etta Luttrell’s fifth grade at Sperryville school entertained at a party in her honor "Wednesday.
Mrs. Luttrell was presented with a corsage and a gift of three hand-painted angels, and also many gifts from the children in her room. Mrs. Luttrell will retire from teaching this session of school, having taught 30 years. The children of her grade tried to express the i egret of the parents and the children of future grades that Mrs. Luttrell will not be present to teach them. The children fell that every child who has not had Mrs. Luttrell .as a teacher has lost much.
