Ouch! “2nd Washington” they say, after the ladies of “The First Washington of Them A11” almost had a fit and fell in it before they got the State Conservation Commission to put up the placques announcing this to be ©ne-and-only, original, real-McCoy, cross-my-heart and hope-may-die lirst-washington.

“Seeks Music Recognition” the city paper continues. My! My! The county’s getting so fancy and ambitious, the first thing you know all the young sons of Rappahannock will be attending dancing school, attired in little-lord-fauntleroys and patent-leather slippers! Most fully are we aware of Rappahannock’s talents and abilities. The grandsires of some of us were known far and wide as the makers of the best corn-likker in the hills, but this “seeking music recognition” sounds as if the grandsons are going to take a turn at playing the harp!
