Miss Alma Retires
As Flint Hill Postmaster
Closing a career of 38 years, Miss Alma Ricketts has retired as postmaster of Flint Hill post office.
The citizens of the community presented Miss Alma with a gift, a chair, as a token of their appreciation for all the accommodating acts and her kindness through the years. The folks say they know they’ll miss her more' than can be expressed.
Many of the youngsters in the community appeared shocked when they were told that Miss Alma would retire on June 1. They had never known the postmaster as being anyone but Miss Alma and some of them seemed to think it couldn’t be run any other way.
Prior to Miss Alma’s becoming the postmaster in 1913, Her sister, Mrs. Radcliffe, had the position. Mrs. O. W. Gilbert, Jr., is acting postmaster at present on a temporary appointment.
