Primarily your county agent’s .time of late has been spent working up a plan for a grass-land system of farming and management program upon request of Albert Fletcher 3rd of Warrenton who this summer purchased the Buck Cook property near Larabees Kennells, located in the northeastern corner of Rappahannook. The latest recommendation for a grassland system of farming call for the total open land to beapportioned as follows: Orchard graas-Ladino clover pasture 30 per cent; Kentucky (or alto) 31 Fescue-Lad ino clover 15 per cent; grass ensilage and hay mixture .15 per cent; and Kentucky Blue grass-White Dutch clover 10 per cent. This program once established also affords a maximum of gracing and a minimum of winter feeding as well as labor costs.

Next on our list is a production-management program for Windsor Lodge Farm at the request of Mr. Jackson, the new manager. Mr. Jackson originally is a Tar Heel but came to Rappahannock from a large dairy farm in Hanover county where he had been managing for a Mr. Broadus. He will have a long and tedious row to hoe at Windsor Dodge and am very pleased to know that Mm. Cordon seemingly

operations ere done effectively.

Thomas 8. Wheelwright, Jr., assistant state co-ordinator of Civilian Defense, has requested a place in Washington where the Filter Center teams plan to meet members of the foilinwg Rappahannock posts: Amissville, Washington, Huntly, and Sperryville. The supervisors of these posts and. their volunteers will meet in the Washington Fire House at 7:30 o’clock Tuesday evening, November 20.

BOBBY REID MAY BE RETURNING FROM KOREA

Word has been received at Rappahannock News to hold Bobby Reid’s paper for a change of address, as he will not receive mail at his present address. This information gives the opinion that he may be on his way home.

Bobby Reid has been in Korea for 14 months and has received his copy of Rappahannock News air mail during that time.
