The speaker, Rev. A. Paul Thompson, gave this series of remarks:
“This plabque becomes for us a symbolic object. It symbolizes our gratitude—beyond our ability to express—to and for those people who served our nation in the World Wars. It symbolizes our American way of life, our*’ freedom and our liberties. It symbolises more: it symbolises our desire to protect these freedoms and liberties from our enemies within and without. To this cause are we all concerned and dedicated.
“In our seal for this cause, we must not forget something off great importance—God.
“We are not so concerned about America’s ‘know-how’ to protect these with her industry, scientific advancement, and knowledge, but in thinking about this source of strength, we may forget our religious heritage.

He also lists three ways this may happen: refusing to hear God’s word, walking after the imagination of their own hearts, and serving other gods. These * three statements were a warning to the Houses of Israel and Judah and th^y would not hear.

The Star Spangled Banner was sung and the services were closed with the benediction by Dr. W. G. ii Pendleton.

Opens Monday
Toyland at Bradford’s Store in Flint Hill will be open Monday.
M. R. Bradford, Jr., has announced that Santa will be at the store Thanksgiving Day, as per schedule. This annual custom of Mr. Bradford's playing host to St. Nick on Thanksgiving Day is a “must” by now. The children of the county have already announced their intentions of seeing Santa at Bradford’s, and Mr. Bradford knows- he must have Santa, present—or face a number of disappointed children.
