SPERRYVILLE BRIDGE CLUB MEETS IN MENEFEE HOME
Mrs. Carroll Menefee and Mrs. Jaenie Jarvis entertained at dessert bridge at their home in Sperryville Thursday evening. Guests included Mrs. G. T. Bruce, Mrs. D. D. Miller, Mrs. Rayner Snead, Mrs. Wade H. Massie, Jr., Mrs. C. H. H. Branch, Mrs. John Davis, Mrs. Fred Schaefer, Miss Louise O’Bannon, Mrs. Z. H. Sealock, Mrs. W. H. Lyne, Mrs. Charlea Estes, Mrs. R. E. Wood, Mrs. John P. Snead, and Mrs. Elizabeth DeBergh. Mrs. DeBergh won high* score prize for guests and Mrs. Sealock, for the club; Mrs. Estes won traveling prize. Mrs. Menefee and Mrs. Jarvis were assisted in serving by Miss Louise Schwartz.
Birthday Dinner
Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Latham entertained a group of friends and relatives at dinner Friday evening, the occasion being a celebration of Mr Latham’s birthday. All of their children and grandchildren were present. Others included Mrs. W. E. Duncan, Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Latham, Miss Frances Buchanan, Miss Louise Anderson, and a former pastor, the Rev. J. A. St. Clair of Rocky Mount. Rev. St. Clair assisted Rev. A. Paul Thompson last week in a revival at Oakley chapel. Sunday dinner guests in the same home on Sunday were Rev. and Mrs. M. E. Sliger.

ge Me. and Mrs. David Corbin of Flint 39111 entertained at bridge on Saturday evening. Those playing were Mr. and Mrs. C- B. Wood, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. McGehee, Mr. and Mrs. Gallie Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Edmonds, Mr. and Mrs., John R. Moore, and Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller. After the game prises were awarded to Mrs. Earl Edmonds, traveling; Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller, high score for men and ladies. A delicious salad course served by the hostess.
