Bull Sale, Field Day
Planned at Front Royal
' Bulls from the experimental herd will go on sale at the Front Royal branch of Virginia Agricultural Experiment Station April 9. Curtis Mast, associate animal husbandman at VPI, said records of performance, showing feed consumption and rates of gain, will be available on each animal.
He explained that these are the apimals which have been on feed this winter. At the end of the feeding period the Station selects the four top gaining bulls, and the four bottom gaining bulls for experimental purposes. The rest will be sold at public auction. Angus, Hereford, Shorthorn bulls, most of them from 12 to 15, months old, will be included. The sale will be at 1 p.m. During the mornihg, the station superintendent, B.M. Priode, will conduct a tour of the Station. Different lots of experimental cattle will be on display.
Mr. and Mrs. L. E, Johnson and Louise Johnson were in Luray on Friday night to attend the revival, conducted by E. Wayne Thompson and John Adkerson. _ Among those visiting in the home of Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Johnson bn Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Compton, Mr. and Mrs, Carson Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rector and children and Oscar Johnson of Zanesville, Ohio.
Mr. and Mrs. L. E. Johnson and Louise Johnson were supper guests Thursday of Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Rector. February 28, the occasior beng “Becky’s” fourth birthday other guests in the Rector home were Walter Rector and F. D Coffey.
