Every home needs two types of lighting: 1. General lighting, best provided by ceiling fixtures supplemented by floor lamps etc. Use . . for general or casual seeing only.
2. Localized lighting: Provided by floor, table or special lamps designed to dijrcet light on the work as a supplement to the general lighting. Use for aH close seeing work; such as sewing, studying, reading, games, etc.
No bare lamp bulbs: A few practical suggestions for improving your home lighting with very little trouble and little or no expense.
1. Keep your light bulbs and fixtures clean. A film of dust or grime can cut down light as much as 20%. 2. Light colored walls and ceiling reflet light where it is needed. A fresh coat of paint often works wonders. 3. Make sure there is a reading lamp beside every easy chair out of either end of the sofa. 4. By better light lamps for all reading purposes.
