Flint Hill’s A-Poppin’!
The normally quiet town of Flint Hill is all excitement today 1 Bradford’s Toyland has opened and Russell Bros, are displaying the brand new 1953 Plymouth— all the same day.
All that’s needed now to complete the excitement is tp have one of the Fosters ride in with a deer fastened on his car. Then Jimmie Settle can be appointed mayor; he can get John S. Browning, Frank Cary, and H. S. Barksdale to sing Christmas carols in front of the bank. (That should wake up that end of town.) Then get J. P. Cook and Galley Smith to dance a jig in front of Wood Bros, packing house, while Lyle Rector gives away free bubblegum at the other end of town! If the sheriff should happen to ride through town about that time, he’d lock ’em all up for creating a public disturbance, and Rappahannock News could publish a special edition to list those in jail! r
Folks are getting a pre-view of toyland at Bradford’s; the real thrill for the children comes on Thanksgiving Day when Santa is present to greet th youngsters.
A pre-view of the new Plymouth car was given last night in the show-room at Russell Bros. The new car is on general display today.
