$700 Worth of Tools
Stolen from
Highway Garage
Friday morning, December 5, when Robert W, (Buck) Brown and his brother, Edward Brown, entered their place of business, Highway Garage, on the Sperryville-Washington highway, they found .that the place had closing hours the night before and opening hours that morning.
It is estimated by the Brown brothers that the loss is between $700 and $800 worth of mechanic’s tools and auto accessories. Less than ten dollars in cash in the cash register had disappeared also.
The thieves must have entered through the side rear door, using a •skeleton key, for there were no signs of locks broken, nor windows forced.
Notification was sent immediately to the Sheriff and to state investigators, who were soon on the scene. To •date, no news helps to solve the mystery and find the thieves.
There was no insurance on the tools and accessories, and it looks as if Christmas is going to be pretty slim for the Browns. The expensive tools had to be replaced immediately, since a mechanic can’t work without them.
