quests to help fight a forest fire, the Chief Warden is of the opinion that most of the fires in the county can be controlled before they develop into large fires. Mr. Groseclose will be given a commission by Governor Battle which will convey the authority •to hire fire fighters and to help enforce the State forest fire laws in accordance with instructions from the State Forester and the Chief Forest Warden.
Mr. Groseclose will head up in his school one of the most important and deeply appreciated fire fighting units within the Virginia Forest Service Organization, that is, the well known K.V.G. (Keep Virginia Green) boys. These boys are trained in forest fire control methods and are used as an auxiliary force to be called upon to help suppress arge forest fires throughout the county. They also do very important and valued work in spreading the gospel of forest fire prevention. The value of the K.V.G. Crews is recognized by everyone who appreciates our forests and wants to help Keep Virginia Green.
Forest Wardens have the authority to summon able bodied men for forest fire fighting. Anyone who detects a smoke in the vicinity of woodland or brush land should investigate same and if they find that the fire is out of control or burning unattended, they should call Mr. Gboseclose or Mr. Johnson, Chief Forest Warden of the county.
Council Meeting
At a regular meeting of the Town Council of the town of Washington, Rappahannock county, Virginia, held on the ninth day of December, upon motion duly made, seconded and carried, the Mayor was instructed to convey the following resoluton to Delegates Tom Frost and D. t French Slaughter:
Whereas, the General Assembly at . a special session in December, 1952, passed an Act redistricting the State of Virginia for selection of members to the General Assembly; and,
Whereas, by such act approaching county representation, Rappahannock was aligned with ^’auquier for the selection of a representation in the House of Delegates;
