Mrs. J. S. Hitt
Mrs. Lela Brown Hitt, wife of Joseph Shelton Hitt, died early Monday morning, August £4, at her home at Amissville.
Mrs. Hitt, 54, was the daughter of Benton Brown and Mrs. Susan Fox Brown of Upperville. Besides her husband she is survived by two sons, Floyd and Robert Hitt of Amissville; two sisters, Mrs. G. G. Swain of New Baltimore, and Mrs. Charlie Hill of Atoka; six brothers, Albert Brown of Aldee, Willie Brown and George Brown of Baltimore, Md., James Brown of Oeveland, Ohio, Nick Brown of Charles Town, W. Va.t and Herbert Brown of Warrenton; also one grandson, Floyd D. Hitt.
Funeral services for Mrs. Hitt were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Forest Grove Baptist church with interment in the church cemetery. Rev. Harold Carder conducted the last rites.
