The growers will be paid the same price for their apples at the Sperryville and Flat Woods storage houses as if they had transported the fruit to valley canneries, torage charges will be paid by the canner.
Although the two co-operatives, Washington Apple Growers Coop., Inc., and Rappahannock Fruit Growers Co-op., Inc., made the arrangements for this new feature, all growers of the county whether members of the co-op.’s or not) have an opportunity to take part in this new arrangement~_An additional benefit will reach co-operative members in the fact that the getting of better volume of apples in storage means members will share expenses on a full plant.

G.A. BAKE SALE Saturday morning, August 29, the Girls’ Auxiliary to the Washington Baptist church will sponsor a Bake Sale for the benefit of the Furnace Fund. If weather is fair, the sale will be held in the lot between the bank and the fire house; if “foul” weather, it will be held in Lea’s Store.
