Recent guests of Mr. and Mrs. Luther Payne were Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Moore of Falls Church, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Giles of Warrenton, Mr. and Mrs. Walvet Clark and children, Johnnie, Lucille, and Buddy of Falls Church, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Edward Payne of Arlington and also Mrs. Payne's mother, Mrs. Mattie Clark of Falls Church.

Gibson Wharton was in Washington, D, C. on business recently.

Mr. and Mrs. F. Clyde Baggarly had the following guests at Avon Hall from Washington, D. C. recently, Mrs. Henry Taylor Miller, and Miss Eleanor Greasley.

A/lc William L. Ramey was the week-end guest of his wife and family. Sunday afternoon, A/lc Ramey was accompanied to Washington, D. C. by his wife, Mrs. William Ramey, his mother, Mrs. Ora Ramey and Mrs. Willie Payne and Charlie Harphins of Front Royal. Sgt. Ramey took a plane from Washington to Tampa, Florida where he is now stationed.

Mr. and Mrs. Ashby Lillard Sr. and* grandson, Billy Lillard of Luray were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Walker Jenkins on Friday.

W. H. Lyne, Miss Elizabeth Fuss, Ben Weddle and Mrs. Heltzer are attending an extension conference in Blacksburg this week.

George (“Punk”) Pullen Jr. is in Blacksburg this week making plans to enter VPI this fall.

Mrs. C. J. Miller entertained at a luncheon Thursday. Her guests were Mrs. Clay Mason, Mrs. D. Lyle Miller, Mrs. Clayton Lilly, Mrs. R. G. Quaintance, Miss Louise Miller of Charlottesville.

Mr. and Mrs. Reid Biedler of Washington, D. C. are guests of Mrs. H. J. Racer.

Carlyle I.ea, John Turner, Robert M. Menefee Jr., John Cargill and Newbill Miller attended a doubleheader between the Boston Red Sox and the Washington Senators in Griffith Stadium on Friday night.

Mr. and Mrs. B. M. Miller attended Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church !bn Sunday and were dinner guests of 'Mrs. Bertie Lib Moffett at Lee Highway Hotel.
