The best way I know of to get started down this road is to help your neighbor. Go out of your way if necessary to do something nice for your neighbor. If you do, then almost before you know it he’ll do something for you and you’ll be surprised how much these simple acts of kindly, friendly consideration do to build up your faith in your neighf>or and his faith in you.
Then you and your neighbor can join hands in doing something for another neighbor and so on and on over an ever-widening circle; no one can foretell how far it will go. You’ll * find as you go along in this spirit of helping your neighbor that you are increasing your faith in God because in serving your fellow man you are also serving Him. There are all sorts of by-products to this program, the most important being an increase in yourself reliance. As you do more for your neighbor you will automatically do more for yourself. You’ll be better able to stand on your own feet. You’ll be less dependent on othres and on your government. And nothing, “no, nothing” can be more important than this.
