I wish to thank the post office staff at Sperryville and the rural route patrons for the beautiful reclining chair and smoking set they gave me on my retirement. I would also like to express my gratitude to the patrons who gave me the lovely flowers on my last trip. I will always remember these people who have won their way into my heart.

Maurice Herndon, Washington representative of the National Insurance Agents Association, who recently bought land near Sperryville for a summer home, will conduct the service at Emmanuel Episcopal Church in Sperryville next Sunday morning at eleven o’clock. Mr. Herndon is a prominent layman of the Episcopal church in Vir- i ginia, and senior warden of St. Luke's church near Alexandria. This church has recently added a new building and is a thriving new organization. Mr. Herndon was the key man in this development. He is a licensed lay read in the church, especially, interested in small churches. . V' v . L
