We Salute You

Only recently has construction on the Amissville Fire House been com* pleted and already it has become a meeting place for civic groups in that area, as well as for the firemen organization. Cooperation was the keynote in every cinderblock laid. Some helped with donations, more with manual labor. Little by little the building took shape with many hands, white and colored, masculind and feminine, molding its shape, until now it stands a credit to the community by whom it was created. We doff our hats to the Amissville community for this sturdy symbol of determination plus cooperation.

Grass Roots Opinions

Pawhuska, Okla., News: "No where in the world do the people and the press enjoy so much freedom and have so many privileges as in the United States. Much of the freedom that we have, and should hold dear, is due to our newspapers. For, as the great political philosopher, Thomas Jefferson said, "Our liberty depends on the freedom of the Press, and that—cannot be limited without being lost.” Albany, Ore., Democrat-Herald: “Only when all interests are willing to permit a retreat from paternalism can normal governmental . functions and expenditures be restored and the economy be insured.”
