7. Interesting • accomplishments have been made in the counity-wide goals of the home demonstration clubs. This was citizenship and community recreation, (a) Eleven ladies went on the trip to Monticello and gardens at Charlottesville, fb) Nine communities had parties and picnics for their families and young people. (c) Flint Hill H D furnished food and prizes for Easter Party at school. (d) Huntly H D furnished food and recreation for May Day Party at Reager. (e) Amissville community has built a new fire house. The H D gave $100 toward the purchase 6f a stove, (f) Woodville H D has continued to follow the landscaping plans Mr. Albert Beecher, specialist, made for Baptist Parsonage. The members are donating the different shrubs needed. (g)‘ Twenty-two 4-H girls attended Pbwell’s Fort Camp, (h) Two girls attended State Short Course and one was selected to become an All Star, (i) The county 4-H council published a special 4-H issue with the Kelp and cooperation of the Rappahannock News. The intangible accomplishments that have brought to many families the satisfaction of better family living are often the most worthwhile accomplishments. Perhaps the most tangible evaluation is the estimated savings ($6940.) in both adult and 4-H programs through foods, clothing and house furnishings in 1953.
