Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown had as their dinner guests at Rock Villa, Sunday their son-in-law and daughter, Rev. and Mrs. A. Paul Thompson and their small daughter, Ann Rodes and Miss Eda Finks.

Mrs. Charlie Cloud and Mrs. Carson Jenkins and two children, Diane and Debbie spent the day, Tuesday, with Mrs. Tasker Woodward and two children, Larry and Barbara of Amissville.

Minor Lewis of Washington, D. C. was* a week end guest of Mrs. Jaenie Jarvis in the home of Mrs. Carroll Menefee.

Mrs. Mary G. Thornhill, who has been a guest at “Rock Villa,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Rodes Brown, returned to her home in Glasgow on Tuesday.

Mr. and Mrs. P. Lee Thornton were luncheon guests on Sunday of Mr. and Mrs. H. B. Winfrey at “Sunstroke Manor.”

Mrs. Ethel E. Harrington will * leave on Friday for Lakeland, Fla. where she will spend the rest of the winter and early spring months with her son, Luther D. Harrington Jr. (Buddy), who is rett^j-ning to his classes at the Southeastern Bible Institute at the beginning of the next semester.

Misses Louise and Shirley Cloud were overnight guests of their brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Tasker Woodw'ard and family, Larry and Barbara.

Mrs. Maury W. Brown was a week-end guest of her daughter, Mrs. Maurice Shirey in Front Royal. Miss Jean Brown went to Front Royal on Friday night for a trip to Washington, D. C. on Saturday with her sister-in-law, Mrs. Maury Brown Jr., who drove to the city to meet her sisters who arrived from Texas for a visit with her in Front Royal at the home of Mrs. Shirey.

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Henry Aylor of Arlington were week-end guests of relatives here. They were accompanied home by their two children, Ann Yates and Joe who had been spending some time here with their grandparents.

Miss Holly Updike was a supper guest on Thursday of Miss Dolly Smith in the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Brown. On Friday night Miss Smith attended a canasta party given by the Misses Maney at “Ivy Hill.”

Misses Della, Ebba and Beulah Hitt and their house guest, Miss Nettie Bontz iVere guests on Sunday afternoon of their cousin, Mrs. Fred Hitt, who. continues very ill at her home in Culpeper.

Dannie Clater, who has been ill at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Clater, is improving and he has returned to school for a short while each day.

Relatives and friends in Rappahannock have been informed of the improved conditions of Colonel B; F. Miller, who has recently returned to his home in Richmond following an operation at the Medical College of Virginia Hospital. Col. Miller, a former resident of Sperryville, lived at “Oak Hill.” Later he and Mrs. Miller moved to Richmond where tney have resided for several years.
