Flint Hilt Organizes

Volunteer Fire Co.

In a special meeting Tuesday night, a representative group of Flint Hill citizens voted to organize a Volunteer Fire Company for the purpose of providing for their vicinity adequate fire protection. This action was as a direct result of the rejection by the Washington Fire Company, of the proposed plan of having a joint Washington-Flint Hill communities.

H. S. Barksdale was appointed chairman of the newly formed organization; Emory Russell, Vicechairman and David Corbin, secretary and treasurer.

The following committees were selected: Finance with Lyle Rector, chairman; Maintenance committee for the existing water supplies, W. A. Lawson, chairman; and Equipment Committee with B. J. Wood as chairman. A membership fee of $1 was agreed upon. Twenty-seven members contributed their fee Tuesday night.
