Mrs. Virgil Updike, who underwent a minor operation at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, is recuperating satisfactorily in her apartment on Main Street. Mr. Updike and Mrs. A. M. Verner went for Mrs. Updike on Friday. Mrs. Robert Keyser of Luray was a Friday night guest of her son-inlaw gnd daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Critzer. Friday evening Mrs. Keyser was a dinner guest of her daughter at the V.F.W hall benefit dinner in Sperryille. Among those who attended the V .F.W. beenefit dinner from Washington and Flint Hill on Friday evening were Mr. and Mrs. James L. Nicholson, Mr. and 'Mrs. Lester Burke and son, Richard, Mrs. J. W. Critzer, Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Miller, and Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Bowie. Lt. Col. and Mrs. Luther Partlow
