Annie Jane Lillard
Miss Annie Jane Lillard, a resident of this county in her early years, died at her home in Washington, D. C. on February 8th. Shewas the daughter Wof Mrs. Phoebe Lillard and the late Charles Lillard, both of this village. Mr. Lillard was sheriff of this county at the time of his death.
Miss Lillard held a very responsible position in the Navy Dept, as supervisor. She was eligible for retirement. She is survived by her mother and two brothers, Clifford Lillard of Washington, D. C. and Frank Lillard of Fairfax.
Mrs. Lillard, her mother, still loves RappahannoclT and her fondest ‘memories are of the days she spent here. She is in her 91st year.
Aboard USS Uhlmann
Serving aboard the destroyer USS Uhlmann is Clyde E. Dellinger, gunner’s mate third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. James P. Dellinger of 307 Howard St., Alexandria, and husband of the former Miss Evelyn Sisk of Woodville.
The Uhlmann, whose home port is San Diego, Calif., has been in the Far East since November. She is on her third tour of duty with UN naval forces.
