A stranger would have been dis-_ turbed. We as people who make .our homes in Rappahannock, what do we think of the whole rotten mess? How do we react to stories of the drunks who thought it fun to crash the dance sponsored by the County Rescue Squad (consequently the Rescue Squad has decided to abandon that means of raising money td operate on) on last Friday night, who fought openly in public places; and who finally took to the main street to air their curses, apparently unconcerned with the “weight of the taw”

Since the tension seems to grow to its height on Sunday, this day's misadventures first were considered. And thus a ban on the Sunday sale of beer and wine in the county was pro-* posed to the Board of Supervisors in session yesterday. The... Board turned down the proposal with the exception of one member, W. C. Campbell of Hampton District. One board member did state that he had had a few complaints from citizens of his district.

How long must the peace-loving "citizens of Rappahannock be subjected to such hoodlumism? Six days a week can be tolerated, but when a man fears to take his family for a ride on the highways of the county on Sunday, or feels that they will be exposed to Vulgar language and Insults going to or from church, then it is high time that something is done about the situation.
