He was descended from a line of physicians. His father was the late Dr. Lyle F. Hansbrough, and his grandfather was Dr. M. F. Hansbrough, all identified with Front Royal and Warren County.
Dr. Lyle J. Hansbrough was born in Front Royal, attended local schools and attended Randolph Macon Academy. He was graduated in medicine from the University of Virginia, in 1936, and serving a surgic^ residency there for several years and, also irt Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. In 1943, he returned to * Front Royal. In his secondary schooldays he had incurred an injury to his back which entailed several surgical operations. However, he accepted the -position as surgeon in the former Front Royal Community Hospital, and continued in that capacity on tjie “opening—of—Warren—Memorial_ Hospital, until his death.
Dr. Hansbrough was the son of the late Dr. Lyle F. Hansbrough, and Mrs. Corrine Miller Hansbrough of Front Royal, who wras a native of Westernport, Md.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, Mrs. Helen ' Trimble Hansbrough, formerly of Lincoln, Nebraska, and five sons,
Gary, one month old._
A private funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the home, conducted by the Rev. Richard H. Forrester of Front Royal’*Methodist church.’ Burial was in the Prospect Hill Cemetery.
