Prominent Farmer Died June 26
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday evening at 2 o’clock for Joseph Hill O’Bannon, who died at his home near Woodville, Sun- . day, June 26. The Rev. George, Bowman III conducted the last rites at the Woodville Baptist Church, with burial in the Woodville Cemetery. * Mr. O’Bannon, 86, had suffer-, ed declining health since a severe heart attack in March. The son of Walter and Martha Lucas O’Bannon, originally of Thalmouth, Mr. O’Bannon was born on his parents’ farm near Mt. Salem Church in Rappahannock.
He W2S married to Bertha Miller. They had no children. In 1921 ! he married Rena Armstrong. A I son, Maurice O’Bannon was bom . !to them. Surviving Mr. O’Bannon are his son, 2 grandsons: John Morris III and Robert Hill . Sand 3 granddaughters: Elizabeth, Catherine and Martha Louise. Also surviving is a sister, Mrs. Lily Barber of Woodville and a brother Oscar O’Bannon,' of Hamilton, Texas, and a niece. Miss Lizzie O’Bannon, in addition to several Other nieces and nephews. | The active pallbearers were E. jM. Jones, L. J. Turner, C. J. Miller, Joe W. Keyser, Harry Stephenson, Wiliiam-Yaocey, Wife liam Smith and Raymond Johnson, ^Ministerial Jtinpajj^n^Ta Meet } The Rappahannock County Ministerial Association' will hold its monthly meeting, Monday, July 11 at 1:30 at the Episcopal Rectory in Washington.
