Carolyn Williams Elected To Lead Chester Gap 4-H

On June 22, 1955, the Chester Gap 4-H club met in the home of Miss Maybclle North at the Beef Cattle Research Station.

The purpose of the meeting was to elect officers and to plan our summer project and get as much work organized into each meeting as possible. We choose for our project “Meal Preparation” which we hope will teach each member more about cooking. The officers are as following:

President, Carolyn Williams; _ Secretary, Maybelle North; Treasurer, Judy Williams; Reporter, Shelby Williams. __ Our leader, Mrs. LaMerle Williams gave us a demonstration on table etiquette and kitchen measurements. Maybelle North gave a demonstration on the correct way to set a table. Each member has to give many demonstrations during the summer meetings. In giving the demonstrations, we feel the beginners have much more opportunity of learning more about “Meal Preparation.”

The club’s next meeting will be held in the home of Miss Shelby Williams at Chester Gap.

Games were enjoyed by all and then the meeting was adjourned.
