In 1938, the first dial office was built1 in Sperry ville next to the Hilton home on the Hilton property and for a short while, “Miss Fannie" worked in the Falls Church and Warrenton j Exchanges. On November 7, i 1938; she became agent of the local telephone company. At that time there were 131 stations in Sperryville, "today.” says Miss Hilton, “there are 317 stations.”
