Flint Hill residents were aroused
?the wail of the fire siren around
o’clock Saturday morning. A smouldering trash pile hunt ino 'flames and spread to the garage building at Wakefield Service Station. The engine with a Urge crew arrived in minutes and soon had the fire out. A number of men had started throwing water on the fire before the firemen came, preventing much damage* A window and part of the roof burned.

The Rappahannock Squaws notched a 20-9 victory over the Flint Hill Amazons, Sunday afternoon on the Moffett diamond, taking the three game series, 2 to 1. Losing several of their best ■ players handicapped the Flint H:H girls, but nevertheless they pluckily took to the field. Errors gave the Squaws an early lead, and tho the Amazons threatened they never overtook the Squaws’ lead.
Both teams pUyed good ball throughout the series, considering j that many of the blue jeans and baseball caps were dragged out of moth balls.
A final estimate of the proceeds from the 3-game series has not yet been determined. The Flint Hill team’s share will go to the Flint Hill Ladies Auxiliary to the Fire Department and the share of the Washington team will go to the . local fire department.
