This part of the Soil Bank for the year ahead is being announced - in advance of other phases of the programs so that fanners may now complete plans for fall-seeded wheat. Winter wheat producers will have the opportunity to sign Acreage Reserve agreements until September 21, 1956.
Details of the Conservation Reserve part of the Soil Bank will be- annuonced in the near future. This program, under which contracts are made that cover a period of years, will be available for signtip this fall by those fanners who are in position to start their contract periods in 1956—as well as for those whose contracts will start with 1957.
The 1957 Acreage Reserve program in Virginia will be administered by the State Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Committee headed by Chairman Everett D. Duncan. - " The State Aministrative Officer said that a series of nne meetings to be held throughout Virginia'between August 17 and 20 was arranged to explain hte wheat acreage Reserve program to ASC county -personnel and to county agents. -
