Celebrates Birthday
The Rappahannock News had its origin in Washington, Virginia, under the ownership of Mis sLucy Catherine Bowie and Bruce Bowie, in the building on the comer a— which belonged to L. S. Morean, with equipment bought from a Scttsville, Va. newspaper which they hauled in a car trailer a piece at a time.
In 1950 the Bowies bought a lot from H. C. Geest and construction of the present building began and was completed fn 1951. Newer equipment was gradually added.
