To Have Flower Show
Rappahannock Land We Love is the themei of the spring flower show which1 will be presented by the Rappahapnock Garden Club on Thursday, April 28, 1960 at the ‘linity Episcopal Church Parish Hall, Washington, Va., from 3:00 to 9:00 p.fn. No admission is charged but a silver offering will be appreciated.
Any amat;ur gardener is invited to exhibit including men, women and children. Exhibits must be placed by 1() a.m. the morning of the show, although they can be placed between 8 and 9 p.m. the night before. All plant material must be from the premises of a non-professional grower and no Share Conservation material may be included in any except educational exhibits.
Horticultural classes call for specimen and collections of narcissi (better knotfm as jonquils,) tulips, iris, hyacinths, lily of the valley, and any other bulb, perennial or biennial that: you are fortunate enough to hjve in bloom.
Arrangement classes carry out the theme of the show with compositions and arrangements interpreting the serenity of the mountains, featuring thf water of Rappahann<x'k streams!and material from the woods. Other classes in this division express the warmth of local people.
The Stagipg Committee is working night and day to have an outstanding show. If you can’t exhibit, be sure to cojne and enjoy it.
