Tlie Board of Trustees held its first meeting on Tuesday, April 12 at which time it elected Mrs. Virginia Miller Treasurer and Mr. Freer Wilson Secretary. The board will immediately start on its objectives which are the restoration of the building and raising funds to speed such restoration work as soon as final renovation plans are completed. Each day of delay in getting a new roof on the building means more water damage and increased renovation costs,..

A number of residents have suggested that the building be opened for public inspection and if had hi 'p th? hope of the committee to have “Open House” so that every ope could see the extensive construction work that must be done to convert the building to an atr.acti’ e library. Unfortunately this will not be possible, since a large section of the floor has rotted and it is felt it would be unsafe.

At a meeting of the Library Committee at the Courthouse-last Wednesday evening, Miss FlorenceYoder of the State Library Extension Service showed films of the Wise County Demonstration Library in action and answered many questions which were raised regarding management and maintenance of public libraries. The members of the Committee expressed their appreciation to Miss Yoder for her expensive help and friendly advice on their plans.
