Janet Fox, the -four-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Fox of Chester Gap, was severely bitten by a dog Sunday, at the home of her uncle, Albert Sealock, also of Chester Gap.
Janet tried to pet the dog which was tied in the yard when the dog bit her on the chin. She was treated by a Front Royal doctor, who took seven stitches in her face.
The dog is under observation, but it will not be known for ten days whether or not the animal is rabid.
Mrs. Jones Feted At Party
Friends, former pupils and relatives gathered Friday evening at the Washington Baptist Church at a reception in honor of Mrs. J. Frank Jones who has given more than fifty years of faithful service to the church and Sunday school.
Judge R. V. Snead made a short talk and presented Mrs. Jones a silver bowl as a token of appreciation from the church.
Others speaking were Mrs. Mamie Wrenn, formerly of Washington, Va., now living in Washington, D. C., Rev. John Divers and Mrs. George H. Davis, Jr.

Mrs. Paul Nichols gave an informal piano recital Friday afternoon at her home for her pupils. Those taking pari in the program were Misses Dorothy Ann Moore, Dana Snead, Kay Johnston, Judy Latham, Laura and Carol Parrish and Christopher Parrish.
