At the end of the period covered bv the Committee report, the civil defense stockpile had a cost vahr of $173 million, and $851.(XK) worth of material had been added to it during the month. Among the items in this inventory are emergency hospital units; bulk stocks of medicines, vaccines, dressings, etc.; chemical, biological and radiological equipment, and such engineering items as generators, pumps, chlorinators, purifiers, pipes and fittings.
