Prowlers Enter The
High School
The wave ,of burglaries continues to plague the aiea, as the new high school was the latest to receive prowlers, when it was robbed of approximately $70 in cash last Wednesday night or Thursday morning.
Theives broke a window' of a classroom on the back of the building to gain entry. Once inside, they tried to force open the door to the principal’s office without success, so proceeded to break a door glass in the adjoining general ofiire and ransacked files and desks in both offices in apparent search of money which had been paid for books. However only about $7l) w'hich was kept there for change was available.
After breaking the door glass, the prowlers neatly swept up fragments and disposed of them. According to Mr. Alvin Atkins, the janitor, the crime was committed afjer 9 p.m„ for he left the building1 at that time with everything in good order.
The same night, Sperryville Elementary School was also entered, but as far as could be determined, nothing was taken.
