Mrs. Alice M. Atkins

Mrs. Alice Mabel Atkins, wife of , Berl A. Atkins of Sperryville, died Tuesday afternoon, September 6, at her residence. Daughter of the late William Baker and Lillie Clatterbuck Baker, she was 59.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Miss Janie Atkins, Mrs. Dennis Rawls and Mrs. Roy Alther, all of Sperryville; a son Edward A. Atkins of Sperryville; seven grandchildren ; seven sisters and two brothers.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, September 8, from Thornton (rap Regular Baptist Church,of which Mrs. Atkins was a member. Elder Kirby Shenk officiated, assisted by Elder Robert Keyser. Interment was in Sperryville Cemetery

Pallbearers were Frank Atkins, Ralph Atkins, Clyde Atkins, Aubrey, Jenkins, Will Thomas, Charlie Frazier, Lee Eincham and Billy Thomas.
