Game Checking
Stations
The law requires that all bear and deer be reported and tagged at the big game checking stations during the coming hunting season. C. E. Brown, Game Warden of Rappahannock County, pointed our. Tags will be furnished onh at the checking stations.
Checking stations in Rappahannock County will be established :.t Payne’s Garage, Washington, Va.; Burke’s Store, Woodville Va.; Rector’s Store Flint Hill, Va.: Jenkins Garage, Amissville, Va.; (ireen’s Store Slate Mills, Va.; and Johnson's Esso Service Station in Sperryville, Va.
Main purpose of the regulations, which are in force in most of the states, are to .aid in law enforcement and as a pieans of making a check of the annual kill to assist in regulating the size of the herds.
The archery season opens October IS and closes November 1. 1060.
The gunning season opens on all other game east of the Blue Ridge November 21, 1960 to January 31. 1961.
There is no open season on turkey or bear in Rappahannock County. i
