He js survived by his wife, Mrs. Eva Ijong' Smith and two sons, Galley Washington Smith, III and Charles Long Smith of Flint Hill; his mother, Mrs. G. W. Smith of North Garden, Va.; four sisters and three brothers, Miss Ruby Smith, Mrs. Rov Clark and Mr. Comer Smith of North Garden, Mr. Edwin Smith and Mrs. I. J. Friedman of Charlottesville, Mr. J. F. Smith of Jackson, Mississippi and Miss Willie Jane Smith of Washington. D. C.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 11 at the Flint Hill Methodist Cemetery with the Rev. William Jester, assisted by the Rev. Warren Wilbur, conducting the services.
Pallbearers were H. S. Barksdale, M. R. Bradford, W. A. Laing, Jr., Herbert Foster, James E. Yates, R. H. Dulaney, Emory C. Russell and John S. Browning.
