mass of purplish-red. Along the Sk> line Drive, the Virginia creeper and black gum are wine-red. The sunshine yellow of striped maple spot-light the presence of this small tree. The red maples and hickories are beginning to glow like dying embers.

This weekend and the next should see climax of non-oak coloring. There is a good possibility that most of the oak coloring may last into the first week of November. However, if all depends on the weather. Too much moisture, freezing temperatures, or strong winds can tumble the leaves in a matter of hours. So you had better plan that trip as soon as possible or you may be too late for the show.
