During the Presideirtal campaign he says he “discovered many things about the state of (Virginia that really awed me. Virginia is 41st in the United States in education. Infant mortality in Virginia is 40 in every one thousand births. Only one state has a worse ratio. In other words Virginia is at the bottom of the heap in many things. We have a fine and glorious past, but we are not ahead, nor even staying abreast of the rest of the nation.

Mrs. J. H. Williams, Chairman, Rappahannock Woman’s Committee of the Farm Bureau expects to attend the convention, in addition to Mr. Johnson. Irvin O. Wolf, who is a voting delegate and Gen. Daniel Noce, president Rappahannock Farm Bureau.

The vesper service will be held on the roof garden of the hotel and will be in charge of the VFBF Woman’s Committee.

Egg prices look as if they still have some more rise in them before the end-of-the-vear decline.

They have already bounced back to mid-October levels from a sharp slump late in that month.

Reason for the strength is that old hens finally went to market in good numbers, leaving about six per cent fewer total layers across the nation.
