Progressing
^ork is progressing on the Rappahjannock Library- as rapidly as funds become available. Most recent work was the removal of the floor when it was discovered that there has been considerable termite damage to the supporting beams. Estimates are being received to termite-proof the building so that thefe will be no further trouble of this sort in the future. The old flooring, which is made of one and one! eight inch pine boards is largely salvagable, and will be replaced to retain the authenticity of this finej old building. Vents have been put| into the foundation walls to prevent dampness under the floor, another means of protection against dan|ip rot and termites.
Rians have been made to repair the ceiling at this time also with tunas available and an appeal is made again for donations to continije this restoration. Donations are tax deductible on this year’s income tax whereever such donations are desired. It is suggested further that there is no finer memorial to the memory of members of our community than a donation madq in their name.
