Eight Inch Snowfall
Paralyzes Area
Snow ranging up to eight inches blanketed this area Sunday. Starting about 8:30 in the morning, it fell steadily until late afternoon when it became mixed with sleet and continued into the night. Accompanied by driving winds which whipped the country side through out Monday, the snow drifted and secondary roads were blocked. Much of the highway is still icy. No serious accidents have occurred however.
Temperatures dropped to about 8 M: nday and Tuesday mornings, moderating somewhat Wednesday.
County school students are having a week long vacation from classes as a result of the snow.
