PORT of bulls on ROP feed test at Culpeper was received this week. Piedmont Farm and The Oaks (Tholand and Johnson respectively) are Rappahannock farms with bulls on test this year._
The overall average daily gain, through December 6th was 3.08 pounds per day for the 88 bulls on test. Since one pen of 15 bulls were stricken with severe colds, 1 would say this rate of gain is excellent. Three of the bulls from the The Oaks having a daily gain of 3.39, 3.21 and 3.92 pounds are above average; however, the Piedmont bull unfortunately was among those bulls suffering from bad colds. Most of these bulls are now recovered, according to those in charge and are eating much better.
