FHA WEEK
Continued from page one quaint others with the purposes and accomplishments of FHA; Inform other girls not in FHA of the value, and to have Mrs. Trainam visit a club meeting and speak on degrees of achievement. Mrs. Trainam visited in March and talked about these degrees. The other goals under thus objective will come during FHA Week.
The fourth goal is “To promote good will through getting to know our neighbors at home and abroad.” The projects under this goal are: Know Your Neighbors, Support Care, and FHA Camp. The planned chapter activities were: Sponsor a CARE drive and send one or more CARE packages abroad. Encourage as many members as possible to attend FHAFFA Camp. Hold an Initiation Ceremony for new members. Send Teen Times artd Virginia Future IHomemaker to pen pals in other countries and sponsor a hay ride with FFA, if possible. Plaas were discussed to send a care package to Greece. This package contained canning jars for families who had no jars to put up food that they grow in the summer. This activity was still another part of the main project, Food for Family Fitness.
FHA-FFA Camp was discussed and several girls are planning to attend camp this summer. At the beginning of the year an initiation ceremony was held for our new members. At this ceremony the purposes and functions of our organization were explained and a fun session was included in the meeting. Many of the girls are corresponding with teenagers in other countries. A delegate was sent to the Rappahannock Safety Committee. The club is represented in this committee, and is supporting its work.
