Of much interest (or should be) :o all citizens of Rappahannock County, is the forth coming meeting of the County Board of Supervisors, scheduled for May 10, 1961 to consider the proposed Budget for the year ending June 30, 1962. The Tentative Budget was published in the Rappahannock News, April 5th.
Section 15 1577 of the Code of Virginia requires that notice • of. this meeting be given the tax payers and it is hoped that many will show their approval of the democratic way of conducting the affairs of the county by—studying the budget.coming to the meeting and letting the members of the County Board of Supervisors know what and how they think and feel about it.
At the end of the Tentative Budget published last week, we read, “The above proposed budget DOES CONTEMPLATE x , change in the $3.25 county-wide ,. levy rate to $3.50 ’’
It has been suggested that x break down of some of the itemswould help the tax payer to under stand better just where his tax > dollar goes.
