Auto Smashes Into

Clevengers Station

Charles Ernest Bretz of 722 N. Main St., Culpeper failed to stop at the intersection of Roues 229[211 at Clevengers early Tuesday morning and plowed into the front of the restaurant. Bretz was not seriously injured, but his 1954 'Chevrolet was demolished.

Estimated damage to the restaurant was $1,000. The door, wall and plate glass windows were smashed. John W. Eanes, operator of the restaurant and service 1 station, was back in business by i7 a.m. Wednesday morning-aft^r temporary repairs'were made.

According to Trooper R. C. Greaver, Bretz skidded through hte intersection in the early morning fog. Bretz was charged with reckless driving.

- Falls From Barn Loft i Turner Hitt of Woodville was taken to Culpeper Memorial Hospital Thursday after he fell from the loft of the barn on the farm of Mrs. Earl Combs.

Rappahannock Rescue Squad took Mr. Hitt to the hospital. Extent of his injuries is riot known.
