Attend 4-H Short
Course At VPI
Short Course for 4-H members was held the week of June 26 at V.P.I. in Blacksburg. This was an, exciting week for 4-H’ers from Jhe different counties in Virginia. Anne Jenkins, Harrison Powers and I represented Rappahannock County.
The classes were a lot of fun and interesting. There were recreational classes, games, leadership, singing and others- as well as different 4-H classes. We had assemblies two mornings out of the week and each night. These programs were composed of exchanging ideas and two very interesting talks were made by an IFYE delegate and several 4-H State winners.
Everyone looked forward to the “Share-the-Fun Night”. This was a night full of excitement and thrills for the State winners. Harrison Powers won.the state Sheep Shearing Contest. I entered the state Instrumental Contest and received a blue award.
Indeed, this was an exciting week! Every younger 4-H member should strive to work for this trip. It was truly educational.
